Yard Waste Reminder
Please place yard waste at the curb, off the grass, for pickup. Kindly keep potted plants, containers, and non-yard debris out of the yard waste pile, as these items cannot be collected with regular yard waste. Thank you for helping keep our neighborhood neat and compliant with collection guidelines.
Palma Sola Trace is located 3 miles from the Gulf of Mexico.
A Dramatic Sky Over Palma Sola Trace
Palma Sola Trace residents were treated to a striking — and slightly ominous — display in the sky. A massive shelf cloud (also called an arcus cloud) rolled across the neighborhood, signaling the approach of a strong thunderstorm.
Shelf clouds form along the leading edge of a storm front when warm, moist air is lifted rapidly over a pool of cooler air pushed out ahead of the storm. This creates the distinctive layered look, with a smooth, rounded top and a dark, turbulent underside.
While shelf clouds themselves do not produce tornadoes, they are often a sign of powerful winds, heavy rain, and sudden weather changes just minutes away. In Florida’s storm season, they can appear with summer thunderstorms or tropical system bands.
Residents are encouraged to take such skies seriously, staying indoors and keeping an eye on local weather alerts. More weather information available on Weather Alerts page.
